Notes of the Day
|
- Carly has not completely left Celebrity Duets. She will return and will be singing in the grand finale. The grand finale has been pushed up from October 13 to September 29. That's next Friday.
- Tonight (September 18), Carly will be attending the "Stick It!" DVD release party. I should be able to find some pictures from the event tomorrow.
- Some people have requested an MP3 of Week 3, Song 2. So I made an MP3 of it. It was Carly's best performance and now you can listen to it on your Ipod. - Download it
- The last week has been a very busy week, visitor-wise. We had our busiest day ever on Friday with 2,136 unique visitors.

- I'll post some TV critics reviews of Carly's last performances. Here they are:
What a turnaround. Carly improved a ton, while everyone else was sucked into some abyss of suckiness. Did she sell her soul to the devil? Or perhaps all she needed was a little promise of potential sex to get her motivated. I guess I'm glad America has no ears and booted Lea instead of Carly. I'm sure Lea didn't have much room for improvement in her.

Carly Patterson & Jesse McCartney: Hey, it's the kid from Summerland. Is he going to make out with Carly on stage? Could this stray into Justin Timberlake/Janet Jackson territory? No, it's much more G-Rated than that. Maybe a little PG. We're only going to get some suggestive looks. They do have some chemistry though. I'm seeing dream casting for High School Musical: The Return.

Carly Patterson and Jesse McCartney: Carly was in the bottom three last week and survived to return for another performance. This was her best so far, but her voice was drowned out everytime her and Jesse sang together. Marie requested that Carly loosen up a bit while singing, Little Richard said something about pushing and pulling, and David asked that she sing from her diaphragm rather than her throat. As those of you former high school choir participants know, you project stronger and further when you sing from your diaphragm.

Celebrity Duets - Week 3, Song 2 and 3 Videos

Despite a strong performance on Song 1, Carly was voted off. She did a great job though. I think everyone was surprised to see Carly go, even those who weren't huge Carly fans. The official Celebrity Duets web site was even surprised that Carly was voted off instead of Cheech. Hopefully Carly can continue her dream of being a singer.

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to catch y'all up on things! Last week was amazing, singing with Anita was such a dream and she was a sweetheart. We had a blast together! I was so nervous when Wayne Brady said I was in the bottom 3. I thought I might have been going home. That brings me to the main reason I'm writing this. I need my fans to vote for me a lot. Lucy Lawless and Alfonso Ribeiro fans are hardcore, and they vote like a lot! I need everyone to help me out and vote a bunch on Thursday nights! I really hope everyone continues to call and support me. I am having a great time and it's such a great experience.

New Carly Blog Entry for September 5

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the compliments on my first show. I know it wasn't my best
performance, but next week will be much better. I was really nervous and
didn't know how all this worked.
My song with James was incredibly hard, but he was amazing to work with.
He tried to ease my nerves to just have fun. I think I will be able to
relax and have more fun as the show progresses.
I knew the song I was singing with Lee Ann so it made it a little
easier. She was awesome to work with. She was so helpful and gave me
lots of great tips.
I'm having a great time and everyone is so nice and friendly. I have
learned so much in the last week and that is really exciting. I am
hoping this will only make my voice and singing better and better.
Please don't forget to watch the show next Thurs. Sep. 7th, Fox, 7pm CST
and vote CARLY. Pass the word on to all of your friends and family
